We drove around the country side looking for some pretty winter scenery....we saw TONS of deer! It was crazy.....so we tried to take some pictures of them! I like this picture best!

The moon
This shot is utterly impossible to take inside your camera.....so don't try to beat yourself up. Basically if you can you want to double expose to get two different exposure on one frame. Kind of hard to do on a digital camera. But outside the camera on Photoshop it's a piece of cake. Basically you want to take the same picture.....with the exposure correct for the moon and then the exposure correct for the tree's and sky. Good luck! :-)

Twilight
There's a special light that happens right after the sunsets and before it gets all dark and that's twilight...you get this pretty blue in the sky. I read about it in a magazine and thought oh how neat but ehhh....I'll never capture that type of light. Well right before Nik got up from his nap I glanced outside and just saw this amazing blue and thought I had to try and get it on camera. I tried very hard and I will have to do some more but I think I love twilight shots....so pretty!

The last NORMAL picture that my Lens would take!
Here is the last picture that my lens motor took while it was still working. I can pull out the lens but I have to figure how to use flash with that!

Help I've been pinned
We made it to our friends the J's. Their daughter decided that her little doll needed to pin Little M down. It was SO funny that I HAD to take a picture of it! :-)

Christmas Ornaments
Christmas Decorations are hard to get especially inside because you want to get the twinkling lights...which is when you set your shutter speed for a long period of time. UGH SO hard....because then you need to have it laying on a surface that won't move....I had a hard time with because of a certain 2 year old! SIGH!! Thankfully I got pictures I was happy with! :-) I love Kim & Ole's tree because they have a theme for their tree (while we don't!)

Snow Poop
Little N and I made snow poop. I had read on a blog about how this person had made
"snow poop". John thought it sounded really gross but I thought nothing of it. SIGH....went back to the website I learned that it was actually snow pops. Well I didn't have the wooden sticks and thought it was an awesome project for Little N and I to do together. We had fun...Little N helped get the cake grounded up, helped make the frosting, and then helped make the white chocolate frosting. The thing that I really wish I had was a good macro lens so that I could have gotten up close to the cake (I got what I wanted but I had to crop it down in Photoshop). So here are my pictures of SNOW Poop!!

January 1
I nearly failed on my first day to get any pictures. My goal was to take pictures of Little N and I making something but SIGH....it just didn't work. I'll take pictures of that tomorrow! :-)
But instead I decided that I would capture Little M....my sweet dear little boy who is almost 4 months old....can you believe it? Nope...neither can I! I have two cute pictures that I absolutely love!
Basically all I did here was take the picture....fix some of the highlights in Adobe Raw and then I ran my noiseware on the picture, sharpened it and then went to the eyes and sharpened them up!

A New Year Resolution
You know how every year everyone starts the New Year with the best of intentions....well my New Years resolution was two-fold....I wanted to lose weight (tone up) before my sister got married (which I have till September to do) and I wanted to take a picture a day for 365 days. (That's my absolute goal) I want to get better at photography and the only way to get better is to take more pictures and to try new things and to have a place where I am accountable. So I am gonna put this on my family blog and if you find it from there keep me accountable....make comments here. I might not post every day but I'll try to update this every day (which I know at times will not happen but I will try!). What is your New Years resolution? What is that you want to change in your life? Happy New Year and good luck with your resolutions!
